I saw this picture yesterday on the internet. I was not able to understand whether what happened was right or wrong. That day, one went home alive, and one went home hungry and without food. One has the right to live, and the other’s family must eat to live.
Even in day-to-day life, sometimes it is difficult to figure out what is right and what is wrong. Is right and wrong just a perspective, or is it subtle? As they say, ‘One man’s food is another man’s poison’.
If right and wrong depend only on the perspective, then there is no right and wrong. It depends on the view, how the situation is seen and evaluated. Culture, education, the quality of education, family background, personal background, and whatnot play an essential role in having a perspective. If this is the case, then where to draw the line? Who will draw the line? Who will decide what is wrong and what is right?
If right and wrong are subtle, then why is killing someone for self-defense not illegal in the eyes of the law, but killing someone for betraying is a legally punishable offense? People killed by terrorists is wrong, and Russian soldiers killed by Ukrainian soldiers are right.
Sadly, I do not have any answer to this. What all can be said at the end is, we need to touch the humanitarian side of ours. We need to help people around us and should try to make them comfortable as much as possible. I do not know if we can split the difference between right and wrong, but we definitely make this world a better place if we understand our duties and be accountable for our actions.
